Creator of the *Gioconda* (*Mona Lisa*), *The Last Supper* and the *Vitruvian Man*, Leonardo left thousands of pages of notebooks with inventions and observations that anticipated later discoveries by centuries.

On April 15, 2013, two homemade bombs exploded near the finish line of the *Boston Marathon*, killing three people and wounding more than 260. The perpetrators, brothers *Tamerlan* and *Dzhokhar Tsarnaev* of Chechen origin, were identified by security cameras. Tamerlan died in the subsequent shootout; Dzhokhar was captured, tried and sentenced to death.
