July 7 has no owner yet

On July 7, 1937, an incident at the Marco Polo Bridge (Lugou Bridge) near Beijing between Japanese and Chinese troops triggered the Second Sino-Japanese War, which would become the largest Asian conflict of the twentieth century. The war, in which between 8 and 20 million Chinese died, was later absorbed into World War II when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941.

On October 26, 1958, Pan American World Airways inaugurated the first regular transatlantic commercial service with the Boeing 707 — the first commercial jet airliner in history — between New York and Paris. The 707 reduced transatlantic flight time to under eight hours and democratised air travel, launching the era of modern mass commercial aviation.

On July 9, 1877, the first Wimbledon tournament was held in the grounds of the All England Croquet and Lawn Tennis Club in London, with 22 participants and 200 spectators. The winner was Briton Spencer Gore. What began as a local event would become the world's most prestigious tennis tournament, now attended by more than 500,000 spectators annually.
