March 25 has no owner yet

On March 25, 1821, Bishop Germanos of Patras raised the flag of revolution at the monastery of Agia Lavra in the Peloponnese, launching the Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire. The conflict, which received support from European philhellenes such as the poet Byron, culminated in 1830 with the recognition of Greek independence. March 25 is Greece's national holiday.

On March 25, 1911, a fire at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in New York killed 146 workers, most of them young Italian and Jewish immigrant women who could not escape because the doors were locked. The tragedy, which shocked the nation, was the trigger for labour reforms that established workplace safety standards and strengthened the trade union movement in the US.

On March 25, 1957, France, West Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg signed the Treaties of Rome, creating the European Economic Community (EEC) and EURATOM. The treaties, considered the founding act of what is today the European Union, established the common market and were the most ambitious political project of European reconciliation after the devastation of World War II.
