March 28 has no owner yet

On March 28, 1979, reactor number 2 at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant in Pennsylvania suffered a partial core meltdown — the worst nuclear accident in American history. The crisis, which caused collective panic, did not produce direct casualties but effectively paralysed the construction of new nuclear plants in the US for decades.

On March 28, 1941, British novelist Virginia Woolf, founder of Anglo-Saxon literary modernism, drowned in the River Ouse in Sussex after filling her coat pockets with stones. She left a letter to her husband Leonard describing the symptoms of a new mental crisis. Her novels "Mrs Dalloway", "To the Lighthouse" and essays like "A Room of One's Own" established her as a feminist literary reference.

On March 28, 193 AD, Roman Emperor Pertinax was killed by the Praetorians just three months after coming to power. What followed was the shameful auctioning of the Roman throne: the Praetorian Guard literally put the Roman Empire up for sale to the highest bidder. Senator Didius Julianus paid 25,000 sesterces per soldier and proclaimed himself emperor — the beginning of the turbulent "Year of the Five Emperors".
