What happened on November 28?

On November 28, 1912, *Albania* declared independence from the *Ottoman Empire* in the city of *Vlorë*, during the Congress of Vlorë. The movement's leader, *Ismail Qemali*, raised the flag with the *double-headed eagle*, a national symbol since the fifteenth century. Albania was the last Balkan country to gain independence from the Ottoman Empire.
