June 13 has no owner yet

On June 13, 1966, the US Supreme Court issued the Miranda v. Arizona ruling, establishing that detained suspects must be informed of their rights — the "Miranda warning" — before being questioned: the right to remain silent, the right to an attorney and the warning that their words could be used against them. The ruling transformed police procedures across the US.

On June 13, 1944, Nazi Germany launched the first V-1 bomb — the first remotely guided flying weapon in history — against London, inaugurating the use of cruise missiles in warfare. The V-1s, nicknamed "doodlebugs" for the sound of their pulse engines, launched more than 9,500 rockets against England before the end of the war, killing around 6,000 civilians.

On June 13, 1983, the space probe Pioneer 10 crossed the orbit of Neptune, becoming the first human-made object to leave the solar system. Launched in 1972, it took 11 years to travel the 4.5 billion km. The probe carries an aluminium plaque with information about humanity for possible extraterrestrial civilisations. Contact was permanently lost in 2003.
