June 11 has no owner yet

On June 11, 1963, President Kennedy delivered a historic televised speech declaring that civil rights were "primarily a moral issue" and announcing federal legislation to end racial segregation. That same day, Alabama Governor George Wallace physically tried to block Black students from entering the University of Alabama until forced to step aside by the National Guard.

On June 11, 1955, the worst accident in motorsport history occurred at the 24 Hours of Le Mans when Pierre Levegh's Mercedes-Benz crashed and disintegrated on the main straight, launching debris into the crowd: 83 spectators and Levegh himself died. The accident led Mercedes to withdraw from racing for more than three decades and transformed motorsport safety standards.

On June 11, 1991, the Pinatubo volcano on Luzon, Philippines, began showing intense signs of activity after 600 years of quiet. The following day, June 12, the main eruption began — the second largest of the twentieth century — launching ash columns 35 km high and causing a global cooling of 0.5°C for two years. Around 800 people died and 200,000 were left homeless.
