☠️1881

On March 13, 1881, Tsar Alexander II of Russia was assassinated in St Petersburg by a bomb thrown by members of the terrorist organisation Narodnaya Volya ("The People's Will"). His assassination halted the reform process and hardened the regime under his successor Alexander III.
