March 20 has no owner yet

March 20 marks the spring equinox in the Northern Hemisphere — one of two days in the year when the Sun crosses the celestial equator and day and night are of equal length. Ancient civilisations — Stonehenge, Teotihuacan, Chichen Itza — built monuments aligned with the equinox. It is the astronomical start of spring and marks the new year in many cultures, including the Persian Nowruz.

On March 20, 1852, the novel "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Harriet Beecher Stowe was published — it became the best-selling book of the nineteenth century in the US and one of the most influential works in the history of American slavery. The novel sensitised millions of readers to the cruelty of slavery. Upon meeting its author, President Lincoln reportedly said: "So you're the little woman who wrote the book that started this great war".

On March 20, 1760, a great fire destroyed much of Boston, Massachusetts, damaging hundreds of buildings. Large urban fires were recurring catastrophes before the arrival of modern fire services and planned urban development. The Boston fire was one of the most devastating in American colonial history and affected the development of one of the most important cities in the future Colonies.
